The name Fathom carries a dual meaning that reflects the heart of our philosophy. In English, it means to measure depth and to understand fully. In Irish, fáth means cause, reason, or purpose.

Together, these roots express how we work: helping you explore beneath the surface, uncover meaning in your wealth, and connect each financial decision to a greater purpose.

Fathom is also tied to human scale and navigation. Sailors once measured depth by hand, lowering rope a fathom at a time to know what lay beneath. That image captures our role, not to steer for you, but to help you chart the course, avoid unseen risks, and move forward with clarity and direction.

More than 20 years ago, Brendan Dunleavy and his assistant Paula started Dunleavy Wealth Management, a firm built on honesty, care, and personal connection. Over the years, that small beginning grew into a collaborative team with a shared philosophy and a clear purpose.
